Morgenstern Orthodontics is excited to offer Invisalign as a treatment option for our patients. Invisalign is an invisible alternative to braces and is a revolutionary technology that is clear, comfortable and discreet. Dr. Morgenstern is an Invisalign specialist who is experienced with correcting the following problems with the Invisalign system:
How Invisalign works and the Invisalign process
Invisalign is a series of clear, plastic aligners that are custom-fitted to your teeth. This treatment offers an alternative to orthodontic braces for straightening teeth and refining our patients’ beautiful smiles. Each aligner is worn 1-2 weeks so your teeth gently and gradually move into their final positions.
The process starts with a free consultation with Dr. Morgenstern to discuss all your treatment options and ensure you are a good candidate for Invisalign. We use our intraoral 3D digital itero scanner (no goopy molds needed!) to obtain a digital impression of your teeth that will be used to fabricate your Invisalign aligners.
Dr. Morgenstern is directly involved in designing the movements of your teeth with Invisalign’s Clincheck software to ensure an optimal result. When you start your Invisalign, there will be some small, clear attachments bonded to your teeth which will allow the aligner to direct forces on your teeth in specific ways needed. You will wear your aligners for 20-24 hours per day and routinely visit the office every 6-10 weeks so Dr. Morgenstern can check the progress of your treatment and make adjustments as needed.
Total treatment time depends on the severity of your dental condition and how far teeth need to move. Invisalign can take anywhere from 6-24 months to complete. At the consultation Dr. Morgenstern will provide you an estimated treatment for your unique case.
Benefits of Invisalign
Patients love Invisalign!
Invisalign aligners are clear and almost invisible. This makes treatment less noticeable and more discreet. Many people will not even realize you’re undergoing orthodontic treatment!
Invisalign is comfortable to wear. The smooth plastic adapts perfectly to your teeth with no brackets or wires.
Invisalign is removable. Unlike standard braces, you can remove your aligners to eat and clean your teeth. This means no food restrictions and that maintaining good oral hygiene is easier since you can brush and floss like normal.
Invisalign gets results. Many of the most common orthodontic problems can be treated with Invisalign.
Invisalign is custom-built for your mouth using some of the most advanced dental technology.
Who can use Invisalign?
Teen Invisalign
Teenagers often have the greatest need for orthodontic treatment to align their teeth and correct their bite for ultimate, lifelong dental health. Invisalign Teen is a specific product made for teens that is able to adapt to the continued growth and eruption of permanent teeth that children experience.
Compliance, rather than age, is the most important factor in achieving a great orthodontic result with Invisalign.
Adult Invisalign
It’s never too late to improve on your smile! With modern innovations in orthodontic technology, adults can enjoy getting a perfect smile without braces. Invisalign for adults can achieve noticeable results in just a few months. Invisalign often requires fewer trips to the orthodontist than traditional braces, which adults usually appreciate with their busy schedules.
Invisalign FAQ
You have questions and we have answers! At Morgenstern Orthodontics we are happy to share our expertise and answer common questions you may have about Invisalign.
Q: How Much do I need to wear my Invisalign clear aligners each day?
A: You should wear your aligners 20-24 hours per day. You should only take them out to eat and brush your teeth. We will provide you with all the information you’ll need to feel confident about starting your Invisalign treatment, including how to wear and care for your aligners.
Q: Is Invisalign treatment painful?
A: Invisalign is moving your teeth so just like traditional braces, there is an adjustment period to get used to them. You may have some tooth soreness and mild discomfort for the first few days. We recommend using over-the-counter pain medication if needed.
Q: How much does Invisalign cost?
A: Many factors determine how much your Invisalign treatment will cost including how difficult your smile will be to correct, how long treatment will last, and other details of your unique treatment plan that Dr. Morgenstern will prescribe. Treatment with braces or Invisalign are generally comparably priced. Check out our payment options to learn more about cost and insurance benefits for orthodontic treatment.
Q: Is invisalign completely Invisible?
A: All parts of your Invisalign treatment will be clear and, therefore, not very noticeable to people around you. This includes the clear attachments that are glued to your teeth and the clear aligners that you can remove. But up close an observant person may be able to tell since nothing is truly invisible!
